CHOICES Steering
Chair – Doug Hamilton (Oak Grove Construction Company, Inc.)

• Objective: To help reduce the high drop-out rate of local high school students in order to create a more prepared workforce by implementing the CHOICES educational program throughout Sonoma, Lake and Mendocino Counties.

Community Relations
Chair – Jeff Scott (Mead Clark Lumber Company)

• The objective of the committee is to oversee and raise awareness of NCBE in the Sonoma, Lake and Mendocino counties community.

Executive
Todd Cowan, Chair (Cowan & Associates/Designers, Inc. & Natural Aquatics)

• The objective of the Executive Committee is to assist the Board of Directors in guiding all programs and services of the Builders Exchange, act as the Personnel Committee, and serve as the Board of Directors of the NCBE Community Fund to oversee the disbursement of scholarship monies to local students.

Finance and Budget
Mike Behler, Chair (Behler Construction Company)

• Objective: To ensure the financial strength and solvency of NCBE by applying sound business practices to the development and implementation of our annual budget.

Governmental Affairs
Dan Galvin, Chair (Shapiro, Galvin, Shapiro & Moran)

• The objective of the Governmental Affairs Committee is to promote and protect the legislative interests of NCBE members and the construction industry at the local, state and federal levels.

Green Building
David Leff, Chair (Leff Construction)

• Objective: To be a leader in developing and maintaining programs and services related to Green Building and to promote the environmental, economic, health and community benefits of sustainability to NCBE members and the general public.

Insurance Trust
David Elie, Chair (Elie Development)

• The objective of the Insurance Trust is to provide quality health programs, offering medical, dental, vision, life and other voluntary insurance plans as deemed appropriate.

Member Services & Recruitment
Monica Soiland Nelson, Chair (Midstate Construction)

• Objective: To develop and maintain programs and services that benefit NCBE members and their employees, and conduct on-going membership and marketing efforts to attract new members.

Nominating
Robert Cantu, Chair (Western Builders)

• The objective of the Nominating Committee is to develop and recommend a slate of NCBE members to serve as Officers and Directors of the organization.

Political Action
Greg Hurd, Chair (BKF Engineers)

• Objective: To evaluate, endorse and provide financial and promotional support for candidates and elected officials who support the beliefs, goals and objectives of the North Coast Builders Exchange and its members.

Scholarship Committee
Mike Behler, Chair (Behler Construction Company)

• The goal of the Scholarship Committee is to distribute scholarship monies from NCBE’s Community Fund to worthy high school, college, university, and trade school students who seek assistance in furthering their education.

Workers’ Comp & Safety Committee
Clay Green (Cats 4 U, Inc.)

• Objective: To provide a quality workers’ comp program that offers low premiums to member companies and develop and maintain programs/services related to workers’ comp and safety to assist our members with reducing injuries and complying with Cal/OSHA.

Workforce Development
Ken Dern, Chair (Aaction Rents)

• The goal of Workforce Development is to take a major leadership role in developing a strong and expanded local workforce through outreach to schools, advocacy for increased Career Tech training, and involvement in career fairs that expose young people to opportunities in construction.
